Lund & Sorensen heating blankets are specially designed for curing the leading and trailing edges of wind turbine blades.
These heating blankets operate at a stable temperature of approximately 60°C, when mounted correctly on the blade edges.
Once the blades have been cured, ground and polished, it is possible to carry out any required procedures with no risk of grinding non-cured material and thus releasing hazardous substances into the atmosphere.
Using heating blankets thus has two advantages:
1. Better working environment
2. Shorter blade throughput time, which ensures
increased production flow.
Heating blankets and mats can be designed in different sizes and power configurations to comply with customer specifications.
Lund & Sorensen heating blankets are currently available in two standard models, with and with-out an integrated thermostat.
Three temperature ranges are available for the thermostat settings: 0–90°C, 20–120°C and 20–220°C.
We can also supply thermostats with a preset maximum setting to ensure that the temperature of the heating blanket does not exceed the desired level. This is to make sure that the material in the wind turbine blade is kept in the best possible condition.
We make our heating blankets from material designed for temperatures up to 150°C.
As a result, Lund & Sorensen heating blankets are particularly well suited for curing the blades after lamination, and when carrying out spot repairs.
